Astrology By:
Jade Emory Nobody thinks it could really
happen to them. But for 15,000 Oahu people, it already has, even if they
are employed. Homelessness is a result of transiting Saturn in
Cancer, which began June 4, 2003, and will conclude July 16, 2005. Saturn
rules limitation, Cancer rules home. Astrology addresses
more than birth charts; it deals with current transits affecting birth
charts. Saturn returns to its birth position every 28-30 years, and when
transiting Saturn in Cancer returns to a natal placement of Saturn in
Cancer, it is especially difficult to secure appropriate housing,
especially for renters on fixed disability incomes in a market distorted
by the influx of military personnel with much higher housing allowances.
One such 59-year-old woman remains homeless although she is the ideal,
sober, responsible tenant, now living on credit, accruing formidable
debt, despite conservative choices. The fourth house of one’s birth chart also rules housing. It
can contain the influence of one to three astrological signs, none of
which may be one’s Sun sign. ARIES encourages an active,
creative home life, but it may get rowdy! TAURUS creates beauty in the home,
has art and music prevalent, and enjoys stability and security. GEMINI watches TV, reads, and
prefers the social connectedness of apartment life or close-knit
communities. CANCER is a homebody and loves
cooking, gardening and family life. LEO holds parties, wanting home to
be a recreational center for itself and its kids. VIRGO needs a clean, orderly home,
often working there. LIBRA likes an attractive home,
and prefers companionship therein. SCORPIO may inherit home or land,
or may provide these for others. SAGITTARIUS may have several homes
in many locales, as it loves to travel. CAPRICORN often has a historic
home, or furnishes with antiques. AQUARIUS may live in a commune,
sharing home with friends. PISCES needs solitude most of all,
so that it can meditate. Jade Emory holds degrees in psychology and education, has taught in American and Canadian universities, and has been a counselor since 1970. She may be reached at 429- 2411.
