Astrology By:
Jade Emory Most people confuse appearances, or
‘form’, with content. They think that having a ‘buff body’ is
analogous to true fitness and real health. The ancient Chinese oracle, I
CHING, teaches that ‘Love is the
content and Justice the form.’ ARIES in the chart shows where we have
abundant physical and mental energy. It turns exercise into play-time for
people at any age. It may indulge in fast foods because it likes instant
gratification. TAURUS loves beauty and sensuality. Ideally,
it is astute enough to ascertain that high inner values constitute real
beauty, not just size and shape of body parts. GEMINI is mentally and physically mobile,
benefiting from combining mantras or affirmations with repetitive physical
exercise. Having an open mind and intelligent communication with others is
as stimulating as hiking and biking. CANCER cares about food and correlates it
with emotional well-being. Psychological fitness is therefore as important
as nutritious meals. LEO may ego-trip on how great it looks. It
loves to dance and ‘strut its stuff’. Competitive sports are its
physical exercise, and self-improvement is its emotional and mental
exercise. VIRGO may work at exercise, or exercise at
work. It can take the purest vegetarian diet and make it pleasurable.
It’s better to play with our animal friends than to eat them. LIBRA practices moderation in exercise,
actually in everything else too. It likes a balance in its life and may
enjoy sports involving flying, skydiving and even bungee jumping. SCORPIO is focused intensely on its choices.
Athletically it may enjoy water sports, especially exploring the depths of
the ocean for hidden treasure and archeological finds. Sex is probably its
favorite ‘exercise’. SAGITTARIUS may have a spiritual basis for
its diet. Often athletic, it loves vigorous exercise and can easily burn
off calories. Its philosophy or religious path provide the inner
foundation for fitness and well-being. CAPRICORN benefits from maintaining
structural cohesiveness through chiropractic alignment. Respecting past
history, it may rely on familiar ‘comfort foods’ from its own
heritage. AQUARIUS enjoys diets from other cultures,
which may prove more healthful than familiar fare. It finds acupuncture
essential to creating and maintaining good physical and emotional health. PISCES may find fitness as much from
meditation as from swimming, boating and other water sports. It must avoid
alienating others, or superficially ordering its life by choosing
companions who reflect self-destructive potentials. Jade
