At last month’s Pow Wow, a
Native American dancer new to our community kept his eyes downward on
Mother Earth, which welcomed him here from the mainland. He was loving the
land. A Vietnam veteran Indian vendor lovingly helps raise two Vietnamese
children adopted by his daughter. The children shine in character and
achievement. A hungry adult bird takes an offering of breadcrumbs and
feeds it to her young. Love is always the best choice. Venus in the birth
chart indicates how we love, and how we feel loved. Even if the Sun is in
an emotionally detached air sign, or if one’s parents were toxic and
abusive, if Venus is in a tender nurturing sign, love thrives. Venus in:
kindles the fire of the beloved. It inspires. It encourages. It playfully
creates mini-moments of joy that add up to a life of no regrets.
shares its money and possessions, buying a new dress for a homeless woman.
It loves through all the senses.
expresses love through the heartbeat of the sacred drum and verbally. If
it upholds its words with consistent conduct, it is more than a poet; it
is emotionally trustworthy. Sibling love is especially strong.
provides housing and nourishment, both with food and emotionally.
loves itself and instills confidence in others. Like the Pow Wow dancer,
it shines on its own, seeking no applause.
heals, creates fine crafts and learns unconditional love from animals. Yet
it has boundaries of acceptable behavior, not allowing disrespect to cross
dedicates itself to being present for relationships of fair and equal
partnership, regardless of age or status differences.
loves sexually, psychically and financially. Even death cannot extinguish
the love it shares with another person who has passed.
loves God above all. In that context, its love of people and horses is
rich and reverent.
loves elders and cares for them patiently and compassionately. It is a
most responsible parent.
is the adoptive parent recognizing a soul level of connectedness, even
though its child is biologically from another family or culture.
is capable of mystic love, transcending not only life and death, but also
physical and metaphysical limitations.
