IF YOU CAN’T BEAT THEM, CHANGE THE CHANNEL
When you cannot fault the message, then kill the messenger. That old acorn resembles how I was treated by HBO Sports and Bob Costas when they recently tried to disparage both me and my osteopathic practice of more than 20 years.
As one of the leading longevity and lifestyle enhancement doctors experienced in the ethical administration of growth hormone (GH) for GH-deficient conditions leading to premature aging, it makes perfect sense that HBO would seek out me out. With my experience in treating professional football players and other athletes with growth hormone replenishment – a legal, ethical and well-established regimen for individuals with low GH levels — I was a sitting duck.
But when Costas and his other guests disagreed, they just didn’t say so, in the process they had to defame my ethics and professionalism. Their assertions are wrong. They missed common facts about the therapy and accused me and others of practicing outside the rules. Now if I had not volunteered to appear on national television, and in doing so opened myself up for scathing criticism and barbs, I would be in court today. But HBO doesn’t need the truth; that’s for the HBO news department, if they had one. HBO needs ratings. Badly. So far, after the show aired several times, I have received but one phone call and only single patient question. Maybe next time, Bob.
Even if you don’t watch HBO, you must have heard of HGH. All this football hubbub must mean that HGH works, or why would it now be banned by the NFL — long after I quit working with footballers — apparently providing players with an unfair competitive advantage. HGH therapy, when supervised by a licensed dispensing physician is a legal, ethical and moral treatment for diagnosed GH-deficiency conditions — also called pre-mature aging. Many pro athletes show symptoms of such deficiencies and blood work generally substantiates the low GH levels.
Even so, injectable prescription HGH may not be the best way to achieve desired results.
Human Growth Hormone is expensive and often difficult to come by, and because of arguably gray ethics of life extension science using HGH, I have been searching for and have recently come across perhaps an even superior solution that does not involve FDA-controlled substances – no NFL banned ingredients. All legal, all the time.
Most GH products easily obtainable are known as GH precursors, usually in tablet form, and are made up of the building blocks of HGH itself, a hormone released by the pea-sized pituitary gland at the base of brain. Over time, the amount of HGH released diminishes after peaking at around age 19. By age 50, only a quarter of that amount is still released. Most scientists agree that the amount of free HGH in the human body directly affects many functions, such as healing, hearing, sight, sleep patterns, muscle mass, bone density, etc.
Precursors, although made up of the stuff of HGH must be absorbed intact and then processed by the pituitary before converted into HGH itself. In the past, little if any ingestible GH formulas really counted for much free HGH in the system.
Now, though, I believe I have come across what may be the best of both worlds with an ingestible system of precursor compounds along with other active amino acids and proteins. The system uses liposomes, a scientifically advanced form of organic delivery system for drugs and other forms of oral therapy that require special packaging.
Liposomes are like microscopic cargo vessels that can be created around drugs or nutrients. They travel the system unmolested by antibodies until they happen upon receptors that can extract the vital cargo and process it. Many types of cancer drugs and other toxic medicines uses these organic vessels made mostly of choline, also an advanced precursor of GH, adding to the effectiveness of the system.
Because both the liposome and its precursor formula are composed entirely of compounds found either in nature or the human body, they are considered food supplements and not subject to the rules governing prescription medicines. The government considers them so many vitamins, minerals and amino acids.
Independent, professional double-blind tests on human subjects for 30 days show overall persons taking this formula had 25 percent or higher incidence of free HGH, also known as IGF-1 or Somatomedin C. The liposome formula provoked a release of pituitary somatotrophin (HGH), as indicated by an increase in IGF-1. The controlled group taking a placebo had no incidence of higher IGF-1 levels.
I’m convinced this product is the way to naturally renew the hormone cascade in the anterior pituitary. Injectable GH suppresses the feedback loop of the body by supplying GH instead of helping it produce the hormone on its own. I’m impressed by the delivery system and the results others experience with the products. Anti-aging groups endorsed these products when they first appeared on the scene three years ago and are still a unique delivery for GH naturally.
What I noticed personally about taking the products is that I finally got a good restful, full-night’s sleep, and in the morning my eyesight was better. These results are similar to taking injectable GH. We now offer other products that combine with the liposome therapy to provide age and gender specific solutions for your anti-aging requirements – without requiring a prescription or blood work.
My office is the only practice in the state offering this simple, safe and easy combination of healthy products. I sold out of everything from my first shipment in the first day. I like things easy, simple, quick, convenient and that work. This does.
NOTE: Human Growth Hormone is available only by prescription and regulated by the Federal Food and Drug Administration. In order for our physicians to prescribe HGH to you they must establish a doctor-patient relationship with you. This is to make sure the therapy chosen is right for you. Call (808) 732-0888 to determine your potential for HGH therapy.

A Rare Breakthrough in
Hearing Care Science
By D. Kona Smith
The human ear is remarkable. Unimpaired, it is sensitive and universally adaptable.
It can focus on a whisper as the concert hall lights dim and then expand to take in all the sounds of a symphony. It can filter out traffic noise, recognize a voice on the phone and pick out a child’s voice in a crowd. Until now the available technology enabled the hearing impaired to regain only part of “natural” hearing. While recent strides in technical development offere great improvement, hearing aid users yearned to return to perfect, effortless hearing. Now, with the advent of patented “nFusion” technology we have come closer than ever to fulfilling that desire.
“nFusion” is a brand-new ground-breaking advance in hearing care technology. It is the first hearing aid ever to use nanoscience in its design. It utilizes a revolutionary system that recognizes and classifies incoming sounds instantly. The results are better, with clearer and more natural hearing. This is the most technologically advanced hearing aid now available. For the first time, users can experience the most natural hearing whether they are in a quiet room or out on a busy street. Open fitting techniques eliminate the feeling that something is adding fullness to the ear — users have a more comfortable natural hearing experience.
No longer will folks with a hearing loss struggle to listen on the phone. Whether they are in an important meeting or a fun family gathering, they will find they hear better, more normally, and far more comfortably.
The “nFusion” series of hearing aids is the result of an investment of millions of dollars in scientific research and years of laboratory research and development. They enable the hearing impaired to enjoy hearing as they may only remember it. One of the great features is feedback canceling. While many of the newest hearing aids have been able to decrease acoustic feedback “whistling,” they only offered a partial solution. With this new technology, a digital algorithm cancels this annoying problem. Users report they enjoy new hearing freedom now that the “whistle” is gone.
For the hearing impaired, the wait is finally over. This new technology is available now at Ohana Hearing Care. Call 593-2137 if you would like more detailed information or to experience this breakthrough in hearing technology. Ask for a free brochure that details the performance of “nFusion.”

Is Poor Posture Killing You?
By Chip Abbaddessa, D.C.
Posture is the window to the spine and nervous system and often reveals a problem with a person’s spine and nervous system. One of the most common indicators of poor posture is a slouching or forward head posture. This causes extra strain on the neck and upper back muscles. This often leads to headaches, neck and upper back pain and numbness in the hands and fingers. It also increases the stress on the discs and joints and leads to arthritis or decay of the neck. Spinal arthritis can cause permanent nerve damage affecting the entire body. There are many causes of this type of posture including car accidents, sports injuries, and improper sitting and working at a computer.
Another common posture problem is a forward tilt of the pelvis causing an increase in the lumbar or low back curvature. Pregnancy, weak stomach muscles, prolonged sitting or being overweight may cause this. This can lead to chronic lower back pain, muscle spasms, sciatica, leg weakness, lower extremity circulation problems and much more.
Poor posture not only affects a person’s health, but also may make the person look tired, weak or even dishonest. If your job includes working with people, improving your posture may be the best thing to further your career. As we age having good posture becomes even more critical because most of us will suffer from osteoporosis or bone weakening.
Chiropractors are experts at analyzing posture and spinal problems. They are trained in the art of detection and correction of “subluxation” or spinal misalignment. My office uses a computerized system to analyze posture in addition to full-spine x-ray to determine the health and alignment of the spine. After several adjustments, a person can usually see a big difference in their posture.
As mentioned above, posture is the window to the spine and nerve system. Distortions in spinal alignment are indications of vertebral subluxation – a condition treated only by chiropractors. Subluxation is a misalignment of the spine causing changes in nerve function and health. Chronic subluxations lead to spinal disc and joint arthritis or decay. Subluxation affects the function of the nerve system and the nerve system controls every function in the entire body.
If you would like to have your spine and posture properly evaluated (only $35), please contact my office for an appointment.

Healthy Networking Works Wonders For Your Business
By Maureen Trevenen
One of the best marketing tips for any business is to network. Get the word out about who you are and what you do. This is a common and effective marketing factor that links your customers to your business. That was exactly what the Waimanalo Health Center and Ke Ola Mamo had in mind.
They invited several community organizations to their Community Agency Networking Fair on March 3, 2006, at the health center. The purpose was to increase partnerships and build referral systems within the community agencies.
This opportunity of learning about other programs and services in the community brought together people who cared; people who were waiting for clients – people who needed these services.
These organizations are people who realize that there are many in the community, right here in Waimanalo, who do not know about the many resources that are available to them.
“We’re putting faces to names,” remarked Louana Kassebeer, Outreach Worker for the Waimanalo Health Center.
Familiar faces had stories to tell of their work helping people, of happy individuals and families grateful for the help that was given and the aloha that we all share in making our community a better place for many.
Twenty agencies participated and exchanged brochures, flyers and explained their services in detail. These agencies included the Waimanalo Health Center, Ke Ola Mamo, Weinberg Village Waimanalo, Hina Mauka, Castle Medical Center, Department of Human Services, Sage PLUS, Sage Watch, Alu Like, Catholic Charities, Kamehameha Schools, Hawai‘i Job Corps, Network Enterprises, Harbor House and St. Matthew’s Church.
Waimanalo Health Center (WHC) currently works together with some of these organizations by providing facility space here at the center for the organization to share information and provide services to the WHC patients and by displaying flyers for events or programs being offered. Likewise these organizations help the health center. With all of us working together (networking) we will grow to be a more caring and economically stronger community.
The Waimanalo Health Center has doctors in adult, pediatric, and women care, behavioral health and prenatal. Most major health insurance is accepted including Quest and Medicaid. The health center is located at 41-1347 Kalanianaole Hwy, across from the Waimanalo Elementary and Intermediate School. Hours are Monday to Friday, 8 a.m. to noon and 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturdays at 8 a.m. to noon.
